JANUARY EVENT – CUTTING OF THE VASSILOPITA
- What
A talk entitled “Becoming a better teacher” will be given by Dr Luke Prodromou where members of the audience will be encouraged to participate. This is the time to catch up with friends and get some ideas from one of the experts in the field.
The presentation will begin at 19.15 but doors open at 18.30. The talk will be followed by the honoring of 3 TESOL members. There will be a wonderful prize for the lucky winner of the Vassilopita coin!
-Who
Luke Prodromou is a freelance teacher, teacher-trainer.
He has trained teachers in many European and Latin American countries. Luke has written textbooks for all ages and levels. He has a special interest in drama for teaching purposes, the washback effect of exams, idiomaticity and mixed-ability classes. Luke has published widely in ELT magazines and journals and is the author of Smash (A-D, Macmillan) and co-author of Dealing with Difficulties (Winner of the Ben Warren Prize and an English Speaking Union Award and shortlisted for an ELTON prize). Luke graduated from Bristol University and has an MA in Shakespeare Studies (Birmingham University) Dip.TEFL (Leeds University) and a Ph.D (Nottingham University). His book English as a Lingua Franca was reissued in paperback in 2010 (Continuum). He has recently taught young learners in private language institutes in Thessaloniki. He is currently writing materal for Italian secondary schools.
