The Board / Linda Blanton

Linda Lonon Blanton is Professor Emerita of English at the University of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Upon retirement, she assumed the position of Institutional Director of Anatolia English Programs in Thessaloniki, a job she says she finds both challenging and rewarding. At Anatolia, her primary objectives are to enhance oral English instruction through a communicative curriculum and perpetuate Anatolia’s historical ties to American literature, language, and culture.

Dr. Blanton is a founding member of the Journal of Second Language Writing and Writing and Pedagogy. She has worked in ELT in Tunisia, Morocco, the USA, and now Greece. Her academic writing includes ELT textbooks and articles in academic journals. At the University of New Orleans, she was co-founder of the intensive ESL program and a professor of linguistics. She is happy now to be working in Greece and hopes to become a speaker of Greek siga siga.
